Day 006 - Coos Bay to Medford

On the way to Medford we made a little detour and stopped by the West Coast Game Park in Bandon, Oregon. It was really cool.
There were a ton of goats, deer, a few donkeys, and a llama all roaming free. We bought some ice cream cones filled with animal treats for 50 cents each to feed the animals. The deers were little piggies. I think that it helped that they were taller than the goats... they just pushed their way to the front to get the treats. They had a wide variety of animals there... lions and tigers and bears (Oh My!) Maria's favorite was Rocket the racoon.
Rocket was a girl, not to be confused with the cybergenically engineered Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy. I think my favorite was the fox...
because I learned that foxes are a little bit klepto (Swiper no swiping!) and that they make LOTS of different sounds (What does the fox say). Cooper's favorites were the baby goats.
Maria is terrified of goats... it might have to do with the fact that once upon a time our neighbor had goats and it chased her and head butted her.
Cooper and I pet a skunk. I held a 3 week old possum.
Cooper asked if he scared it if it would faint. Maria and Cooper both held a ferret.
The weather warmed up quite a bit as we travled inland. It was in the high 50's on the coast and in the high 80's in Medford. We checked into the hotel, and then headed out for a wild night at the laundromat. Laundry Party!! Maria: Today was weird. We went to a zoo. We saw A Bear, Skunk, Leopard, Bangal Tiger, Regular Tiger, Lioness, Lion, Unicorn Goats, Peacocks, Donkeys, GOATS, LLamas, Ostritch, Linx, Fox, Possom, Monkeys(That we tought it to blow raspberies), Kangeroos, Raccon( Named Rocket) and Camels. Now it is 90 degrees outside. Cooper: i guess it was an good day.We got to pet a trash panda named rocket...Hehehe.And a wee little possum no bigger than nanas hand...Maybe smaller.

Day 002 - Port Angeles to Aberdeen

Woke up this morning to a beautiful day. We busted out our electric frying pan and had eggs and toast for breakfast.  I think that the electric frying pan is going to be one of the greatest way we save $$. We haven't gone out to eat yet!  We checked out of the hotel and headed to Ediz Hook Spit.  We were going to try Geocaching.... but appararently I need to figure out what its all about because we couldn't figure it out. The spit was pretty cool though.  There was a plaque celebrating the international swim of Bert Thomas from Port Angeles to Victoria, BC. Day 004 - Seaside to Garibaldi

Happy Monday! Today was the first day of a 'normal' day on the road. Meaning that work and school had to happen. I had a meeting with my boss this morning and we went over plans for the upcoming week. Maria and Cooper did their individual school... we have yet to do 'family school' but we did go on quite a few field trips today. After work/school and checking out of our room we headed over to the Seaside Aquarium. So much fun! They have harbor seals that have attitude. They were so great. They would slap their fins, splash the water, or point to their mouths with their flippers to show you where they wanted the little fishies thrown. There is also a couple of pools where you can touch starfish, anemonies, and sand dollars. I had never seen a sand dollar move before... it was pretty cool. Day 011 - Arcata to Redding

This was not a very exciting day. Work and school this morning then we packed up and checked out of the hotel. We swung by the post office and sent off a few post cards and did a small clean out of the car. It was good to vacuum it out, at least partially. We then headed out of Arcata on 299 towards Redding. And we drove and drove and drove. Stopped to go potty and then drove some more. We got to the hotel and set up to do some work. Maria discovered NaNoWriMo and is working on writing a novel. Our hotel room is a little bigger tonight which makes Cooper happy because he can use his VR without fear of hitting the walls... and with the pools closed it's good for him to have some way to get out some energy. We did that whole adult thing and got the tires rotated. Bless Les Schwab and all their tire glory! They got us in, rotated, and out in just over an hour.
